| http://www.chatzy.comRemember this site well. You can use it to roleplay with 2-3 people (any more and it gets complicated) to do a quick scene. Some people use mainly Chatzy, others use the actual board. When you go to Chatzy, you'll see a sign in screen. It's much easier for you to go ahead and register, as there can be multiple Chatzy rooms, and it eats space to bookmark them all. Instead, Chatzy conveniently keeps your log-in names and passwords for each room FOR you. Click 'Create Virtual Room'. You'll come to a page that prompts you for a Title. Write one in, (i.e. RGeorg's Room; The Hostage Pen; Hell's Kitchen), then choose a room password. It does not have to be hard. In fact, 'wiv', 'twitter' and 'skittles' are common passwords. These are to be given to whomever you are roleplaying with in the Chatzy. Pick an admin password (could be anything) and put in the email that you used to sign on with (if it's not there already). Click 'Create my virtual room' and you're almost done! Now, log in as your character's name. You can use either password to get into the room. Once you're in, join the chat, copy and paste the link to your roleplaying partner, and wait for them to join the chat as well. You may then begin to roleplay. IMPORTANT NOTE. Chatzy does not save your scene for you. You must copy and paste onto an empty document as you go or you will lose it. The page only holds about 12KB or so. FORMAT. You may RP in two different ways. - OPTION 1. You may use script format, which appears like this:
Little Billi joined the chat 2 minutes ago Minni joined the chat 2 minutes ago Minni: *pokes Billi* >.> Little Billi: *whines, rolling onto his side on the bed* Minni: *pokes again* Are you awake? Little Billi: *clutches onto the pillow, drawing his knees to his chest, pouting with his eyes still closed* Mmmyeah... Minni: You should wake up more. *nods* So we can play a game! ^^
As you can see, this is a quick way to do an unimportant scene that doesn't need a lot of thought.
- OPTION 2. You may use story format, which appears like this:
Misa: Kaulitz walked through the door, intent on his destination. Why wasn't someone holding the door open for him? That was quite unusual. Usually he had people almost bowing before him. He was the top pf the food chain. Anna: The reason no one was holding the door was Kaulitz was because Shiva had inspired more fear in the people around him than Kaulitz could ever hope to draw; at least, that's what he told himself as he lay in wait...
This is a much better way to do a more important scene; it also requires less formatting at the end. **Please note that Anna made this up completely and Misa never actually wrote that.
POSTING. In case you haven't noticed, Chatzy doesn't copy the pretty colors over to your empty document. You have to do that yourself.
- Option 1: Open the 'Find' Dialog box in whichever program you've pasted the text into. For the 'find' part, put in the character's name. Make sure you include the colons (. Next, go to the 'replace' box. You need to put in
- Code:
-
[b] [color=colorhere]The name of your character plus Colons here[/color][/b] Click 'replace all'. Do this for each character. Then, spellcheck the document and post it under the correct storyline on the correct board.
- Option 2: Open the 'Find Dialog box in whichever program you've pasted the text into. For the 'find' part, put in the name you used, including the colons (. Next go to the 'replace' box. Leave it empty, and click 'Replace all'. You will need to do this for each person.
When you're done with your scene, log in as admin and clear the room, or write END SCENE in big letters, in case other people would like to use the Chatzy. | |
